Wedding Photographer Gloucestershire – but in the City of Bath!

Sam & Martin will be getting married later this year at Tortworth Court Hotel in Gloucestershire.

So when they asked me to do their pre-wedding shoot in Bath I was very pleased indeed.  I just love this ancient city.

So, brushing past all the tourists, we headed for the Circus (no, not that kind of circus!) and picked our moment between groups of French, German and Japanese folk.

So, somewhat surprisingly, the photos make Bath look almost deserted.

Wedding Cakes – wedding photographer Gloucestershire

The recent shoot I did for the Grand Jour bridal boutique as a wedding photographer Gloucestershire included an opportunity to sample a number of extraordinary cup-cakes made by a local lady, Julie.

Her brief was simply to use the same colours as the Grand Jour logo and a second set with the decoration to match one of the most spectacular dresses in the boutique.

Julie didn’t disappoint.  And neither did the cup-cakes she had made.

Now, I’ve always been a bit of a cynic when it comes to cup-cakes, especially as a wedding cake alternative.

But Julies’ creations were a revelation. Never have I had such a delicious cake with such a superbly iced topping.  These were defintely not the supermarket finest-but-tasteless sugar topped boring cakes.

These were bespoke and delicious.  They had a real flavour which you could actually describe in more than just one word.  Sorry, I think I’m raving a bit, aren’t I?

Following the shoot I was given 3 cupcakes to take home, and found myself fighting off the family to get a look in edgeways.

So, I thought they deserve their very own blog page.

And if you should want to ask Julie to do your wedding cakes, cup-cake or traditional, then please mention I sent you – Julie says there’s a few more free cakes in it for me….

Angelli & Keith had the most spectacularly sunny October day ever for their wedding in Swindon, Wiltshire during October.

The ceremony was at their regular church in the town and they had asked for both formal and candid photographs in the nearby Queens Park before heading off to the Hilton Hotel where they had their reception.

Rosemary & Julian attend a chapel in Exeter where they were getting married in the early spring.

Unusually, they had two ministers perform the service, one being the local minister, the other from Cheltenham.

Following the ceremony which was in the centre of Exeter, we drove out to an old pub called the Fingle Bridge Inn, unsurprisingly located next to the Fingle Bridge.

About 400 meters from the bridge, I had discovered what seemed to be the remains of an ancient Mill, complete with broken down stone walls and various pieces of cast iron gears.  This was my chosen spot for the couple-shoot I always like to do, away from the rest of the guests.

Rosemary & Julian simply loved this location.  And it shows.

Nicole and Chris were married in early February in Stroud.  I couldn’t beleive how hard it rained that afternoon.  Its rare to get so completely rained off.  Seriously monsoon.

I felt the only way to get some outdoors shots was to see if they would like a second photoshoot – an option which they readily accepted.

So, two saturdays later we went early to Stratford Park in Stroud.  I had already spoken to the nice people who run the Museum in the Park, and they had offered Nicole and Chris 15 minutes of shooting inside the building before they opened to the public.

So, with cleaners vacuuming around us constantly, we took our opportunity, before moving outside to a chilly but bright location.

I think the photos speak for themselves.
