Wedding Photographer Classic VW
I love being a wedding photographer. And sometimes its as much about something the bride and groom have organised as about the location.
At a recent wedding, the couple had booked a Classic 1967 split-screen VW camper van. It was so spectacular, that I felt it needed its very own blog page!
Speaking to Bob, who owned and drove it, he explained that he’d spent more than 4 years completely rebuilding the vehicle. And it was well worth it. It’s already won a number of concours events, and I imagine he’ll be entering it a lot more in the future.
Bob arrived at the brides home with plenty of time to spare on a gloriously sunny March morning in the north Devon seaside town of Ilfracombe. The drive to St Sabinius church in Woolacombe took just a few minutes through a country lane. But wisely, Bob took his VW along a main route to avoid having to stop every 100 yards to let other vehicles coming the opposite way pass.
This gave me, the wedding photographer, plenty of time to get to the church first.
After the ceremony, there were gasps from plenty of the guests when they saw the VW.
The groom, bestman and ushers didn’t have to be asked twice to don their sunglasses and strike a cool pose by the van.
I want one!
